课    题: Task  Skills building 1: completing a text

教学目标

1. Help students develop their listening and reading skills.

    2. Learn about taboos in different cultures

3. Understand what they can do or cannot do when they are in contact with people from different backgrounds.

教学重点

   1. Learn how to complete a text by listening.

2. Get more information about cultural customs.

教学难点

   1.The ways of improving the students’ listening ability

2.The cultural customs of different countries

教学过程

1. Lead-in

   2. Have the students read the guidelines (four tips about listening)and ask them some questions about the tips.

 3. Listening

   1) Have the students read the diary and try to guess what each of the missing words is by using the methods in Skills building1.

2) Have the students listen to the recording and fill in the missing words according to what they hear.

3) Answer some questions about the passage.

4) The writer’s puzzles

4. Read the passage “Taboo or not taboo---that is the questions!” .

5. Listen to the recording to get more information about cultural customs.

6. Homework
